Our
church plant group invited our home church family for a united Sunday service
of worship and fellowship; so wonderful for Paco and me to have both our
special church families together!
We
rented a venue near our church plant for the event. The combined worship bands, the Lord’s supper
in community, the potluck fellowship afterwards: all very sweet. We were
blessed when David, a man in our congregation battling with cancer, shared his
testimony of God’s presence in his life.
The
Lord obviously had plans to use our united worship service because three new
families joined us! We are thankful that
they could hear God’s Word taught and experience His church.
We
were especially burdened for one family- whose precious 4-year-old daughter,
Odalys, has cancer, and has been in treatment for the past year. Talking with her mother, Gaby, and her aunt,
Mayte, about their experiences and struggles brought tears to my eyes, not to
mention watching Odalys receive medication during the service and meal
following. We are praying for this
little girl and her family in great need of God’s healing, peace and sovereign
control.
