After over 6 years of
ministering at Pan de Vida orphanage in Queretaro, Paco and I still maintain
good friendships and contact with our orphanage family there, even years
later. When they heard about the needs and ministry in Ixcamilpa through
Paco, their hearts were immediately moved. They prepared donations and
sent a team of five out with Paco to the villages to minister alongside him.
The families
were so grateful for
the food and clothes donations which they delivered
directly to the homes of families in need.
But the most exciting gifts
were the audio Bibles! With so many elderly and disabled in the village,
Paco and I had searched (unsuccessfully) for audio Bibles as a way to spread
the Word of God- and the Pan de Vida team brought 6 of them! Paco already
had recipients in mind: 21-year-old Nancy (blind since birth), elderly
Chava
(going blind from diabetes), Mario (advanced schizophrenia), Neri (young man
with learning disability), and more. Both Chava and Neri have approached
Paco on later trips to thank him again and comment that they constantly carry
their audio Bible with them to listen as they work or are at home.
The Pan de
Vida team brought Gospel tracts and literature for children- which they were
allowed to distribute and explain at the village school! The
principal
gathered the school children in one classroom where Kike (Pan de Vida pastor)
shared the Gospel and directed them to read more about Jesus in their
booklets! What an amazing opportunity at a public school!
Along with the
donations, the team joined Paco in teaching children’s Bible classes in the
village auditorium, continuing with “The Greatest Journey”
discipleship.
Both the team and kids alike had a blast with all the games and stories.
Not only the
people of Ixcamilpa, but Paco was also blessed by this team that sacrificed so
much to support him in ministry all the way from Queretaro.
