April 30th is Children’s
Day in Mexico (comparable to Mother’s Day or Father’s Day), and our church did
not miss the opportunity to celebrate the children in our congregation:
thanking God for their lives, and making them feel like the beloved and
important members of the Body of Christ that they are!!
Over 40 children attended, and played
carnival games (washer-toss, soccer kick, cake walk, bingo), received candy
bags and balloon figures, gave testimonies thanking God for their families, and
enjoyed a puppet show about obedience to Jesus, our Good Shepherd.
The whole church family was involved-
preparing the food, washing dishes, decorating, leading games, dressing as
clowns, etc. The kids were not the only
ones who had a blast!! All the adults thoroughly
enjoyed the fellowship, and stayed late into the afternoon. Our congregation, especially some of the
newer members, became more connected through this special time of service
and
love!
